Students who are looking for help in finding money to pay for college are encouraged to attend the upcoming Cash for College workshops hosted by Northern Marianas College.

At the workshops, participants will be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing especially on forms for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, CNMI Scholarship, Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance, Tinian Municipal Scholarship, Rota Municipal Scholarship, and the TEACH Grant. Workshop participants can also have their financial aid documents notarized and photocopied, all without any charges or fees.

The Cash for College event will be held on Rota, Saipan, and Tinian on the following dates:

ROTA
– May 16, 2019: Dr. Rita Inos Jr. High School, 10am-12pm; and NMC Rota Center, 1pm – 4pm
– May 17, 2019: NMC Rota Center 8am – 12pm

SAIPAN

– May 25, 2019: NMC campus, 9am-12pm

TINIAN
– May 30, 2019: NMC Tinian Center, 10am – 2pm

In addition, those who participate in the workshop will qualify to have their NMC application fee and placement test fees waived for the upcoming fall 2019 semester. This waiver represents a savings of up to $75

Although not required, it is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification (e.g., a valid U.S. passport, copy of valid application for a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or green card), an official transcript from high school (at least three official copies), copy of 2017 and 2018 1040, copy of 2017 and 2018 W-2 (if not filing), and proof of CNMI residency, including proof of continuing residency.
