UFO to host contests for PH Independence Day
The United Filipino Organization in the CNMI will hold a string of contests as part of its observance of the 121st Philippine Independence Day during its annual “Pistang Pinoy festivities” on June 9, 2019.
There will be three contests, with cash prizes waiting for the top three winners of an “original Pinoy music” singing contest, dance contest, and a father-and-son lookalike contest.
The singing contest is open to all amateur singers 45 years old and above. The first prize winner gets $300 while the second prize winner gets $200. The third prize winner wins $100.
A dance contest open to all ages requires a four-minute group performance of up to eight members. The first prize winner gets $500 while the second prize gets $300. The third prize winner gets $200.
The father-and-son lookalike contest is open to fathers and sons of all ages. The pair is required to prepare a performance to showcase their talents and comes with a refundable registration fee of $20 that is forfeited if the participant does not show up for the contest.
The winning pair brings home $200.
Other Pistang Pinoy activities include health screenings, aero dance, cardio boxing, parlor games, drawing contests, food stalls, entertainment, and more.
