Join the Edible Book Contest at Saipan public library
Do you like to bake or cook? The Edible Book Contest is perfect for you!
Join the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library on Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 9am to 2pm to participate in this fun, delicious contest!
Contest is free and open to all cardholders with cleared library cards (ages 6 and up).
Last day to register is April 26 at 6pm.
Interested participants should come up with an edible creation that is related to reading and/or books. Examples include, but are not limited to, book titles, authors, and characters.
For example, create a series of cupcakes that resemble The Very Hungry Caterpillar or make Dr. Seuss’ iconic Green Eggs and Ham. The options are endless!
Check out the library’s Pinterest page—@Joeten Kiyu—for more inspirations.
Be sure to bring the book you are recreating to display, or ask a JKPL librarian to help you find it in the library.
Note that the creations will be without refrigeration (but in air-conditioning) for an extended period of time, so creations should not include very perishable ingredients, such as dairy products or ice cream.
Participants should bring their creations to the library on Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 9am to 10am.
From 10am to 12pm, the community is invited to vote for their favorite entry!
After the winners are announced, the community will be invited to taste-test the creations.
All entries must be cleared away by 3pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Any entries left after that time will be discarded.
We hope you will join us! Let’s celebrate a love of reading and let’s get baking! (PR)
