More than 150 children showed up last Black Saturday to participate in the McDonald’s Easter Egg Hunt, and won prizes for, among other, the most number of eggs found, specific eggs, and even the most creative Easter egg basket.

All the participants were given “Be Our Guest” cards, which gave away free food such as french fries, Happy Meals, and more.

There were also winners for the egg hunt such as the “Silver Egg Winner,” “Golden Egg Winner,” “Most Number of Eggs Found” and “Most Creative Easter Egg Basket.”

Max Chang won for finding the silver egg; Rodney Jr. Pinaula found the golden egg. And with 48 eggs found, Iyannah Diaz Agulto won the “Most Number of Eggs Found.”

The egg hunt also featured the “Most Creative Easter Egg Basket” competition, won by Louie Mathew Achas. His handmade basket was both creative and eco-friendly; it reused plastic bottles.

The judges, Power 99 general manager James Nelson and IT&E art director Norman Del Rosario, chose Achas’ entry because not only was it creative but it also highlighted the importance of recycling, considering that Earth Day is just around the corner.

According to McDonald’s executive assistant, Mabel Ayuyu Glenn, this new category was a way to incorporate other activities that can “showcase some of the creative talents of our young kids.”

Glenn said they brought back the egg hunt because they wanted to do something for children to enjoy. The event was “only for ages 3-5 because it was more manageable to ensure the safety of all the kids,” she added.

Glenn thanked Power 99, Yaong Corp., and the Rotaract Club for supporting the event. “Thank you to all our supporters…and we hope to continue to do this every year if we can,” she added.
