The Triple J group of companies recently donated utility equipment and gift certificates that were used as raffle prizes for last Saturday’s 33rd Annual American Red Cross-NMI Chapter Walkathon, plus a cash donation to the American Red Cross itself.
The Triple J Truckload Store gave the NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross pop-up tents, plus gift certificates from the Triple J Restaurant Group for the walkathon raffle. These were on top of monetary support for the American Red Cross NMI Chapter.
“Triple J has been a big supporter of the American Red Cross over the years and we are always grateful for their support,” said John Hirsh, executive director of the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter.
“The walkathon is a great student and family activity that reminds us about the importance of giving back to our community,” said Hirsh. “As we have all witnessed recently with Super Typhoon Yutu, it is only through the generosity of our donors and support of the community and volunteers alike is the Red Cross able to fulfill its humanitarian mission.”
Mike Sablan, vice president of Finance and Administration, Triple J Enterprises, Inc., said: “The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter plays a central role in helping our island community prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. On behalf of Triple J Saipan and its affiliate businesses, we are honored to support the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter and commends their tireless efforts to the CNMI.”
The NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross has carried out its humanitarian mission for 40 years. The annual American Red Cross walkathon usually draws a crowd of over 2,500 people each year to raise funds for the NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The NMI Chapter’s goal this year is to raise $70,000. (PR)
