The Tan Siu Lin Foundation has donated $2,000 as a platinum sponsor of this year’s 23rd Annual Charity Golf Classic of the Hyatt Regency Saipan.
The donation from Tan Siu Lin Foundation will aid this year’s beneficiaries: Make-A-Wish Foundation of Guam and CNMI, 500 Sails, NMI Rollers Basketball Association, Isla Montessori School, and 4H Marianas.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grant swishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.
500 Sails aims to revive traditional Chamorro and Carolinian proa (canoe) construction and sailing.
The NMI Rollers Basketball Association promotes the sport of basketball among the youth.
Isla Montessori School strives to blur the boundaries between the island community and institutional schooling.
4H Marianas promotes agriculture and outdoor learning among the youth of the CNMI.
Merlie Tolentino, executive director of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, said: “Hyatt is one of our partners, so every year our foundation is truly honored to be a part of a cause that supports Make-A-Wish Foundation and different non-profit organizations of the community. It is in high hopes that through various efforts such as the Annual Hyatt Regency Charity Golf Classic, will ultimately lead to benefit and further develop the community in ways possible.”
“[It is the] wonderful and collaborative efforts from community partners like Tan Siu Lin Foundation and Saipan Tribune that make giving back to the community possible,” said Claudine Camacho, Hyatt Regency Saipan assistant manager of marketing communications. “It is a pleasure working with the Saipan Tribune team, because the media team’s personalized and creative assistance is genuinely appreciated.”
