In a lucky break for Christine Manglona, she won a trip for two to Hawaii in a raffle draw hosted by D&Q for the first Spam Jam raffle on Saipan.
Manglona met with D&Q’s Nicole Reyes yesterday at the JP Centre on Beach Road in Garapan to claim her win. Her winning ticket was one of over 1,000 received during the promo period from Feb. 1 to March 15.
Besides the trip for two to Honolulu, Hawaii, Manglona also won a $1,000 check.
“My daughter [reminded me to buy Spam while doing the groceries] so she threw in the Spam in the grocery cart,” she said. “We just ended up throwing in our tickets, not knowing we would win.”
This was Manglona’s second win in a D&Q raffle. The first time around, she won a 50-inch television with a Nintendo Switch.
Manglona noted that she regularly looks at raffle draws ongoing in the supermarket and joins just for fun.
D&Q sales and marketing coordinator Nicole Reyes told Saipan Tribune that the Spam Jam raffle giveaway was held at 12 markets: four Joeten stores, New Sara Market, New Kagman Market, Ming Yang Market, Lucky D Market, Han Nam Market, San Jose Market, and Twins Navy Hill and Twins Dandan.
“[Manglona won against] almost a thousand entries all in all,” she said, adding that there are an additional 10 other consolation prizes. Each consolation prize winner gets three cases of Spam each.
