All CNMI high school students are being encouraged to participate in this year’s Western Governors’ Association High School Art Competition.

The theme of this year’s WGA High School Art Competition is “Celebrate the West.”

Artwork should convey how the student is inspired by their state or territory.

The contest is open to all high school students from one of the member states of the Western Governors’ Association: Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Northern Mariana Islands, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Eligible contestants must be in grades 9 to 12, enrolled in a public, private, charter or alternative school, or home schooled. Winning artists will receive cash prizes. Winning artwork will also be featured on the WGA website and displayed at an upcoming WGA meeting.

The deadline to enter the competition is April 28, 2019. Students can submit a digital copy of their artwork via email to WGAart@westgov.org.

Entries must be in in one of the following formats: PNG, JPG, PDF, BMP, TIF.

Students can also mail a photograph of their artwork to Western Governors’ Association, 2019 Art Competition, 1600 Broadway, Suite 1700, Denver Colorado 80202.
