Romanito Militante has a pleasant choice ahead of him. Either he opts for $10,000 cash or a brand new 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage, which he won as the grand prize winner during last Saturday’s annual Rotary Club of Saipan Las Vegas Night at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.

Militante was not present at the time to claim his prize.

Richard Asuncion won the second grand prize of $3,000 with winning ticket 04629.

A ticket signed “Marmy P.” won the third grand prize of $2,000 with winning ticket number 10730.

Leonora Mabutas won the fourth grand prize of $1,000 with winning ticket 02620.

And a ticket signed “M. Sablan” won $500 with winning ticket 04183.

All grand prize raffle winners were absent during the grand prize raffle draw, but the Rotary Club would contact them for their prizes.

Rotary Club of Saipan president Greg Borja said last Saturday’s Las Vegas Night was a surefire success, with an estimate of at least $50,000 in funds raised. That is based only on the number of tickets sold, not the money from the mini-casino.

“This year was a success. We had a lot of people…that came through here and we were packed,” he said. “The space turned out great, the staff…were very helpful and…the conditions were great here.”

The Las Vegas Night was held in both the Hibiscus Hall and the Azucena Hall of the Fiesta Resort & Spa in Garapan.

“We had some new table games,” Borja said, referring to the Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament as well as three-card poker.

Borja noted that the club would know how much they raised during the one-night event this Tuesday during their weekly Rotary Club of Saipan meeting.

“This was a lot of hard work,” he said, thanking club members, the community, and Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC for providing the club with dealers.

Proceeds from the event would go to the construction of a handicap-accessible playground at the Sugar King Park.

“We would also use it for several Rotary Club of Saipan programs such as youth enrichment, developing the community, and promoting peace,” Borja said.
