Tips needed on Garapan roadside robbery

The Department of Public Safety and Crime Stoppers is seeking the assistance of the local community in catching three suspects involved in a roadside robbery last Friday.

DPS is seeking the help of the local community to locate the operators and passengers of a red sedan that robbed a man who was walking from Himawari in Garapan.

The victim’s bag was allegedly snatched from him by one of three men in a running red sedan that almost hit him.

If anyone has any information that could lead to the arrest of the three passengers and operator of the sedan, please contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272 should you want to remain anonymous or visit the Crime Stoppers website at www.nmicrimestoppers.net.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest.

According to a press release from DPS, at approximately 12:16am last Friday, Police responded to a call from the McDonalds’ Mobil gas station along Beach road Garapan and met with a station cashier who was assisting the victim who is described as an Asian male.

Authorities learned that the victim was walking from Himawari Restaurant heading west direction along Puti Tai Nobiu street when a red colored sedan made a left turn from Orchid Street.

The victim stopped walking to avoid being struck by the sedan but at the same time, the victim noticed a male sitting in the backseat stick out his arm and grab the bag.

The victim allegedly saw three people in the sedan.

The victim described the bag as color blue with a blackstrap. The victim told police that the bag contained his travel passport, currency, and a mobile battery.
