A local telecommunication company last week sponsored a total of $6,000 for the annual golf tournament of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce this weekend.

IT&E last March 21 donated $1,000 to the Chamber golf tournament this Saturday at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort along with a $5,000 hole-in-one prize for the course’s hole No. 3.

“We are a proud and avid supporter of the Chamber and all its efforts to bring economic prosperity to the CNMI,” said IT&E general manager Rose Soledad.

She added in a statement that the company has for over 35 years supporting the community by delivering connections through their services as well as supporting local organizations such as the Chamber.

“The [Chamber’s] annual golf tournament directly benefits the Chamber scholarship fund, professional development trainings, and supports young professionals and aspiring business owners,” she noted in a statement.

According to the same statement, several IT&E employees volunteer under the Chamber events committee and education and workforce development committee in hopes to “move initiatives forward to better the community.”

IT&E is one of the many sponsors of the annual golf tournament that will support the Chamber’s operations and programs.

“Proceeds of the event are instrumental in supporting all of the Chamber’s current and future programs. Initiatives such as our scholarship program and professional development trainings as well as future initiatives around entrepreneurship and workforce development are integral to sustaining the private sector,” a statement from the Chamber noted.

Showtime for the golf tournament starts at 6am with a shotgun start at 7am. The registration fee is $130 per person, and chamber members would enjoy a discounted fee of $120 per member.

The tournament is followed by a banquet and raffle after the closing of the tournament.
