Body found in Kagman

A body that, according to police, was already decomposing, was found in the village of Kagman over the weekend and initial findings indicate that the person died of cardiac arrest.
In a Department of Public Safety news release, it said that officers responded to a call about a deceased person in a residence in Kagman and that the officers came upon a body that was already decomposing.
The Commonwealth Health Center, through Dr. Nicholas Villalon, gave a time of death of 9:20pm on the same day when the body was found, indicating cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
The department has yet to answer media inquiries about the gender of the individual, name, or the exact day and time the person died. The department has not answered whether an autopsy was performed on the deceased or not to determine the cause of death and an estimate on the time when the individual died.
According to an online source, the human body starts the process of decomposition around 24-72 hours after death so a human body would have to be dead for a day or two before it starts to decompose.
On Saturday at around 6:20pm, DPS central received a call reporting a possible dead person at a residence in Kagman and DPS officers were dispatched to the scene.
As they approached the residence, DPS officers noticed a foul odor coming from the house. Upon entering the house, officers saw an individual lying on the floor. The individual was in the stage of decomposition.
At the scene, responding officers asked for assistance of Crime Scene technicians and detectives. They arrived at 7:36pm and gathered evidence from the scene.
At 8:59pm, the individual’s body was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center and DPS personnel arrived at the morgue with the deceased at 9:17pm.
Villalon gave the time of death of 9:20pm and cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
DPS would like to remind the community to not touch, tamper, or relocate items within or around a scene, and call 911 immediately.
