Mahi-mahi Fishing Derby set
The Saipan Fishermen’s Association will hold the 15th Annual Mahi-mahi Fishing Derby on March 30, 2019. Prizes will include $1,000 cash for first place, with remaining placement prizes to be announced. The registration fee is $100 per boat, including one captain and one angler, and $10 for each additional angler. Weightlifting competition on Saipan
CNMI Weightlifting will hold a weightlifting competition on Saipan on May 18, 2019, at a time and place to be announced later. (PR)
NMI Museum, SSHS partner in carwash fundraiser
The CNMI Museum of History and Culture and Saipan Southern High School’s Student Council have partnered for a carwash fundraiser this Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 8am to 3pm. The SSHS Student Council is donating part of the proceeds from the carwash to the museum. Every carwash ticket bought would give the holder two free entries into the museum for a tour while they wait for their car to be washed and vacuumed. The purpose of the scheduled power interruptions is to de-energize utility lines and allow power line workers from the company Primary Source Electric to safely replace wooden poles with concrete ones.
