NMBAC reps at SHRM meeting today
Representatives of the Northern Marianas Business Alliance Corp. will be the speakers at the membership meeting of the Society for Human Resource Management-NMI Chapter today, March 20, 2019, at the Charley’s Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club. The NMBAC will provide information on efforts to update the expired CNMI Prevailing Wage Survey and how this will affect the submissions of fiscal year 2020 CW petitions. The presentation includes the PIC Magellan Restaurant lunch buffet at the cost of $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members. Military trainings at FDM, former golf course
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, and U.S. Air Force is conducting trainings at the island of Farallon de Medinilla until March 18-23, from 8am to 10pm
Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 is also conducting combat search-and-rescue training until March 21, from 5pm to 11pm, at the former Adm. Nimitz Golf Course in Barrigada
It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. It is also recommended the public, commercial pilots, fishermen and marine tour operators stay clear from these areas during the dates and times indicated.
These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island.
The public should be advised that routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur during training at the former Adm. Nimitz Golf Course. (PR)
Free probate workshops on Rota
Micronesian Legal Services Corp. will present probate workshops No. 2 and No. 3 on Rota on Thursday, March 21, 2019 starting at 1:30pm at the Sinapalo Youth Center. The sessions are free and open to the public. (PR)
Weightlifting competition on Saipan
CNMI Weightlifting will hold a weightlifting competition on Saipan on May 18, 2019, at a time and place to be announced later. (PR)
Class of 1981 reunion meeting
Attention to all Marianas High School Class of 1981 and off-island graduate(s) in Guam and the U.S. mainland that there will be a 1981 class reunion meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2019, starting at 6pm at the Tech-NIC Computer above Sherwin Paint across Bank of Hawaii on Middle Road. (PR)

• Water well(s) affected: As Matuis Well Field
• Water service area(s) affected: As Matuis, San Roque, Tanapag and Lower Base will be affected during the duration of the power outage
• Wastewater service area(s) affected: None
• Work to be performed: Replace eight (8) wooden poles with concrete poles
Thursday, March 21, 2019 – 8:30am to 1:30pm
• Outage type: Sectionalized lateral feeder outage on the Feeder 7 distribution circuit

Register for NMC’s spring semester
Northern Marianas College is reminding all individuals interested in furthering their education that they still have until March 23, 2019, to register for the upcoming spring semester.

First day of classes: April 1, 2019
NMC will be also having a free information session on March 21, 2019, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the college’s Olympio T. Borja Library. It is open to all prospective students and interested community members. Those who would like to apply for admission or register for classes can attend the info session.
