In celebration of McDonald’s Saipan’s 26th anniversary, the company launched its anniversary weekend with a charitable donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Charities – Hawaii.

The donation was presented at the RMHC Judd Hill House in Honolulu, Hawaii, on March 13 by McDonald’s Guam and Saipan owner/operators Jose and Marcia Ayuyu.

Jerri Chong, president for RMHC-Hawaii, accepted the donation.

“We are honored to receive this donation from McDonald’s of Saipan as they celebrate their 26th anniversary,” RMHC Hawaii president Jerri Chong said. “We have a longstanding relationship with Saipan and continue to help families from the island who need access to medical care on Oahu. RMHC Hawaii’s mission is to support seriously ill children and their families from not only Saipan, but Guam and other islands throughout the Pacific who need our services.”

The Ronald McDonald House, which opened in 1987, is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide a home-away-from-home for seriously ill children and their families in Hawaii and the Pacific.

Over the years, the Ronald McDonald House has helped many families who have travelled from Guam and Saipan to Hawaii.

“For those that have children that are seriously ill, sometimes we have to seek medical care in Hawaii or in the U.S. mainland. Medical expenses can add up quickly and RMHC understands that,” said Jose C. Ayuyu. “The RMHC organization keeps families together by providing a ‘home away from home’; lodging for families that want to stay together while their child or children goes through medical treatment. This is so meaningful for us because at McDonald’s, families are very important.”

McDonald’s Saipan will also be celebrating 26 years of business with exciting promotions from Friday, March 15, to Sunday, March 17.

McDonald’s Guam and Saipan, owned and operated by franchisees Joe and Marcia Ayuyu, is a food service restaurant chain in the Mariana Islands. First opened in 1993, the organization includes eight McDonald’s restaurants: two on Saipan and six in Guam. In 2016, the Ayuyus acquired all McDonald’s restaurants in Guam and the company remains one of the largest employers in the Marianas Islands.
