MP United Football Club pounced on Matansa FC, 21-1, during the curtain-raiser in the girls U19 futsal game in the 2019 NMIFA Spring Youth League last Friday at the TSL Sports Complex.

Gillian Villagomez started MP United’s string of goals with her back-to-back shots recorded in the third and fourth minute. Guine Borja and Britany Wally also had two goals each late in the first half that ended with MP United holding a commanding 11-0 advantage. Katrina Costales, Julianne Hall, Maury Zon Tybaco, Grace Choi, and Lilian Podziewski also contributed to MP United’s lopsided win over Matansa.

Matansa drew its lone goal from Jannah Casarino in the 27th minute.

In the other game in the division, Kanoa FC topped TanHoldings FC, 8-3.

Paulyn Joyce starred anew in Kanoa’s easy victory after drilling four goals and she also got a lot of help from her teammates. Joyce scored in the 18th, 31st, 43rd, and 44th minute, while Sharmaine Francisco added a brace after hitting the board in the 16th and 41th. Khristelle Itaas and Ruschell Valino delivered one goal apiece for Kanoa with the former finding her target in the 21st and the latter in the 48th.

Judy Ann Andebor had two goals for TanHoldings, while Jenny Ann Capayas made one. Abdebor recorded her pair of goals in the 14th and 34th minute, while Capayas scored in the 48th.

BOYS U18
TanHoldings 5, Kanoa 1

TanHoldings also dueled Kanoa in the boys U18 division and this time the former won during their game last Friday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Aloyzeus Angeles, Mark Esalan, and Jonathan Capayas teamed up in towing TanHoldings to its second victory in as many games. Angeles hit back-to-back goals in the first half (31st and 40th minute) to lift TanHoldings to a 2-1 halftime lead.

Esalan then picked up where Angeles left off, as the TanHoldings forward also made two consecutive goals (68th and 75th minute) to give their team more breathing room, while Capayas closed out for the squad in the 78th.

Ian Karl Maniago tallied the lone goal for Kanoa when he found the back of the net in the 30th minute.

MP United 4, Matansa 0
In the other match last Friday at the NMISTC, MP United shut down Matansa.

Sunjoon Tenorio and Skyler Poon joined forces in handing MP United its second win that put the team in a tie for firstplace with TanHoldings. The two MP United players alternately scored for their squad with Tenorio getting his first in the 10th minute and Poon in the 50th minute. Then in the 61st minute, Tenorio logged his second goal, while Poon duplicated that feat two minutes later.
