• Work to be performed: Maintenance
The purpose of the scheduled power interruptions is to de-energize utility lines and allow power line workers from CUC and the contracting company Primary Source Electric (PSE) to safely replace twenty-nine (29) wooden poles with concrete poles and conduct maintenance of the power distribution system around the island of Saipan. The scheduled power interruptions are part of CUC’s obligation to perform federal funded projects that are aimed at hardening and strengthening the power distribution systems which was affected by Typhoon Soudelor and Super Typhoon Yutu.
Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the working area.
