The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. has launched a program to help employees who pursued a medical degree repay their student loans.

CHCC said last week that it would be launching the State Loan Repayment Program, a program that offers primary care, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health care providers at the CHCC an opportunity to obtain financial assistance in repaying their educational loans.

Those that are eligible to apply for the loan include dentists, pharmacists, registered nurses, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed alcohol and substance abuse counselors employed at CHCC.

Only U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals may apply for the program, and applicants cannot have outstanding contractual obligations for health professional services to the federal government, state, or other entity, no judgment lien against their property for a debt to the U.S. government, and not be excluded, debarred, suspended, or disqualified by a federal agency.

Those who are selected will be obligated to commit to two years of full-time services at CHCC’s State Loan Repayment Program sites that are within the corporation.

Interested applicants have until March 29, 2019, to apply for the program. The application must be sent to humanresources@dph.gov.mp or mail the application package to CHCC at P.O. Box 500409 Chalan Kanoa, Saipan, MP 96950, CNMI CHCC-SLRP.

For more information regarding the application or eligibility, email CHCC human resources director Clarinda Ngirausui at clarinda.ngirausui@dph.gov.mp.

Application forms are available at http://www.chcc.gov.mp/index.php/administration/human-resources/employment-opportunities.
