The CNMI Drug Court’s upcoming graduation is expected to be the first of its kind as it will feature an all-female batch.

According to Drug Court judge Theresa Kim-Tenorio, the upcoming Drug Court would be both coincidental and special: It coincides with Women’s Month and features a group of women who went through the recovery process and succeeded.

“We have an upcoming graduation and…our graduates are all women and our keynote speaker will be [first ] lady Diann Torres,” she said.

Aside from the graduating batch being all women, it is also special because as it serves as a celebration of sobriety and recovery.

After the graduation the Drug Court will officially have 25 graduates.

Tenorio said there are still several on the waiting list and there are currently around 39 still undergoing the process of recovery.

The fifth Drug Court graduation is scheduled for March 15 at 2pm and it will be held at the American Memorial Park theater.
