UOG celebrates its 51st Charter Day tomorrow
The University of Guam will celebrate its 51st Charter Day tomorrow, March 12, 2019.
Opening ceremonies begin at 9am in the center courtyard, and activities run throughout the day until 5pm. The event is open to the public.
The theme is “Para Hulo’—Ever Upward” which celebrates the university’s continued commitment to excellence in academics, research, and service.
Charter Day is the largest public event at the university with over 5,000 people visiting UOG each year. The entire campus will be filled with activities and events for the whole family, including food, games, live entertainment, hut-building competition, campus tours, the CHamoru Language Competition, agricultural displays, Army ROTC demonstrations, Isla Center for the Arts exhibit, President’s Cup finals, and more!
TechFest
UOG’s Office of Information Technology is hosting its first-ever TechFest and will showcase modern technology through various interactive displays and activities. The event will also feature special presentations on various IT topics and keynote speaker Jay Castro, product content strategist at AirBnB. The National Center for Women in Information Technology will be presenting scholarships to local high school students. Find out more at www.uog.edu/it/techfest.
Charter Day mobile app
This year, UOG is also proud to announce the launch of the official UOG Charter Day Mobile App, which is available for Apple iOS and Android mobile devices. Attendees will have the schedule of events, special promotions, vendor maps, and more at their fingertips! The UOG Charter Day mobile app can be downloaded on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
