The administration of Gov. Ralph DLG Torres is narrowing its list of Cabinet appointees, assuring that each appointment or re-appointment “has been carefully thought of.”

Mark Rabauliman (Commerce), Robert Hunter (Community and Cultural Affairs), Vincent Attao (Corrections), Clyde Norita (Fire and Emergency Medical Services), Vicky Benavente (Labor), Anthony Benavente (Lands and Natural Resources), Marianne Teregeyo (Public Lands), and Robert Guerrero (Public Safety) were retained as Cabinet members.

Their names have already been submitted to the Senate so the Executive Appointments and Government Investigations Committee, chaired by Sen. Francisco Q. Cruz (R-Tinian), could begin their confirmation hearings.

Only Finance Secretary Larrisa Larson was not on the list. The administration said the announcement and submission of the name of the person who would be replacing her will be made soon.

In a statement, press secretary Kevin Bautista touted the accomplishments and economic gains the administration has achieved in the last three years since Gov. Eloy S. Inos took office and after Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG Torres took over after the death of the latter. Torres won a fresh four-year mandate with former Senate President Arnold I. Palacios as lieutenant governor.

“Over the last few years of the [administration], we had four successive years of economic growth, which translated into new, better-paying jobs for people in government and in the private sector and an assurance of the governor and lieutenant governor’s commitment to our retirees and their families,” Bautista said.
