Wanted: Dealers for Las Vegas Night
The Rotary Club of Saipan is reiterating its call for dealers for its Las Vegas Night fundraiser this month at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.
According to club vice president Brian Clayton during last week’s meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, Imperial Pacific Resort has not responded yet to lend their dealers to the club’s annual fundraiser.
“Without the assistance of the casino, Las Vegas Night might be a challenge this year. We are still trying to confirm if the casino can provide dealers,” he reported to the club members.
According to Clayton, several previous Las Vegas Nights had several dealers from the casino volunteering to deal the table games, among others.
“We have not yet received a response,” he told club members. “Please reach out to volunteers from the past that have assisted us with the event because I believe we are going to need them,” he said. “I don’t think we would be able to have that as a resource…this year,” he added, referring to Imperial Pacific dealers.
He emphasized that the dealers were a huge help in previous years. One of the more problematic games that is offered in the event is craps. According to Clayton, not too many people on island know how to deal the game.
“We are asking because we don’t know if the casino would be providing dealers for this event,” Clayton said in an interview Tuesday…They have in the past and they had been very supportive of it. We just have to ask for volunteers in the public.”
“There are a lot of people that have helped us in previous years, so we are hoping they could help us again this year,” he added.
The 2018 Las Vegas Night that was initially slated for November 2018 was moved to March 30, 2019, due to Super Typhoon Yutu, which struck the CNMI in late October 2018.
The prizes for the annual fundraiser include a grand prize of a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 or $10,000; a second grand prize of $3,000; third prize of $2,000; a fourth prize of $1,000; and a fifth prize of $500, along with door prizes as well. Winners are selected by raffle draw.
The event would be held at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan on March 30, 2019, from 6pm to 12am.
Clayton noted in a previous interview that tickets to Las Vegas Night may be bought at Megabyte Saipan, the McDonald’s Saipan headquarters in Dandan, through Rotary Club members, and through the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems Inc.
