Resolution recognizes Robert Camacho for 34 years of service

As chairwoman of the 35th Guam Legislature’s Committee on Air Transportation, vice speaker Telena C. Nelson presented Resolution No. 44-35 to Guam International Airport Authority police chief Robert D. Camacho on his retirement after 34 years of service.
Nelson stated: “Robert Camacho is a shining example of what we hope every government employee strives to be. We thank him for the more than three decades he’s guarded our community in his various capacities, and for keeping the people of Guam safe.”
One of 12 children to parents Pedro Alvarez Camacho and Josefina Blas Camacho, Camacho grew up in Mongmong. He gave 11 years of service in the U.S. Army, where he earned numerous accolades and awards. A symbol of public safety, Robert Camacho later served the community through leadership positions at the Department of Corrections, Guam Customs and Quarantine Agency, Guam Police Department and lastly as the A.B. Won Pat International Airport’s police chief from September 2009 to February 25, 2019. He is married to Pauline Camacho and has three children: Robert, Ria, and Isa.
During the resolution presentation yesterday at the Guam Congress Building, Robert Camacho made the following statement on his retirement:
“I want to dedicate this to my mom, who taught me never to quit, and to serve others. I would also like to dedicate this to my family, who’ve been there for me throughout this time, and the many men and women who have been so instrumental in my career and supported me as a leader at different agencies. When I was reading my resume, looking at all these things, it really went by so fast. All I did was put my nose to the grindstone and saw where I could be of help, and where I could shine light on people’s lives. I hope that’s how people will remember me, that I did my best to serve the community and my country.”
Resolution No. 44-35 will be transmitted to the Office of the Governor for review. For more
