The Korean Community of Saipan Golf Classic will be held on April 13 on the east course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.
The tournament has a double-peoria format and cash prizes, cars, and other perks await winners of the event organized by the Korean Community of Saipan to raise funds for its various projects on island. Last year, the association handed out 3,000 to 4,000 meals to residents affected by Super Typhoon Yutu, while it also brought locals to South Korea in the past for a cultural exchange program.
Meanwhile, the champion of the double-peoria contest will take home $500, while $500 will also be given to the Lowest Gross winner. The second and third placers in the double-peoria event will get $300 and $200, respectively, while organizers will award $100 each to the 13th, 23rd, 33rd, 43rd, 53rd, 63rd, and 73rd finishers.
Two brand new cars and $10,000 cash will be at stake as hole-in-one prizes, while lots of raffle prizes will be given away during the awards banquet at the Saipan World Resort.
Registration is only $100, which covers the greens fee and admission to the banquet, and is open to all interested golfers. Check-in time is at 11:30am, while shotgun start is at 12:30pm. The banquet/awards ceremony will start at 6:30pm and will feature performances from both local and Korean entertainers.
To sign up or for more information, contact Korean Community of Saipan president Neung Sik Chang at 234-0465 or tournament directors Lee Young Woo at 483-7889 and Kim Yong Gon at 287-3839. (PR)
