SILC focus group meetings on Rota, Tinian

The Statewide Independent Living Council will hold separate focus group meeting on Feb. 27, 2019, at 6pm at the Rota Youth Center and Tinian Public Library to solicit public input for the new 3-year State Plan for Independent Living. For more information call 322-6537/8. (PR)

MIFICPA to host tax seminar

The Marianas Institute of Filipino CPAs and Accountants, or MIFICPA, invites the public to this year’s tax seminar on March 2, 2019, from 8am to 12pm, at the Hibiscus Hall of the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan. This year’s seminar will focus on tax updates for 2018/2019, changes in tax laws and tax filing requirements, among others.

The seminar will be conducted by David J. Burger, CPA , the managing partner of Burger, Comer & Magliari.

The registration fee for members is $25, inclusive of membership fee, snacks and certificate of attendance. Non-members and non-accountants are also welcome for the same fee. Registration starts at 7:30am.

PH consulate to hold outreach on Saipan

The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam, in coordination with Philippine Honorary Consul to CNMI Glicerio Arago, will conduct a consular outreach mission on Saipan on March 3 to 5, from 8am to 4pm at the Kristo Rai Parish in Garapan.

Biometrics and personal data capturing for ePassport applications will be done according to schedule. All ePassport applicants are reminded to check the list so that they are aware of their respective schedules.

Those who are on the list of ePassport applicants are reminded to:

• show up at the venue on the date and time indicated in the schedule; and

• wear proper attire (i.e. with collar and sleeves)

For consular services, including passport renewal, that require civil registration documents (e.g. birth certificate and marriage certificate), documents from the Philippine Statistics Authority or from former National Statistics Office will be accepted.

Please note that personal appearance is required for all ePassport applications.
