Dr. Jeffery Shay, a highly experienced interventional radiologist, will be conducting a clinic at the Commonwealth Health Center next Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019.

Shay will provide consultation for patients at risk for or diagnosed with ASPVD, or Atherosclerotic Peripheral Vascular Disease.

“We strongly encourage you to refer patients with claudication, poorly healing wounds/ulcerations, rest pain, and/or lower extremity discoloration for evaluation,” said the Guam Radiology Consultants in a statement.

“We strongly urge you to send any patients who have undergone an amputation in the past to determine if measures are needed to prevent additional amputation.

“Likewise, patients who are already scheduled for amputation can almost always benefit from treatment before or soon after surgery by increasing flow to the amputation site, allowing for improved healing and prevention of future amputations. An appropriate work-up and, if needed, endovascular therapy will lead to a decrease in repeat amputations.

“We want to help as many patients as possible. All referrals are accepted. No patients will be turned away,” the statement added.

Send your inquiries and referrals to cnmi@guamradiology.com or fax to (671) 647-4600.  Sheila Baisa, GRC’s patient care coordinator, will assist with referrals.

The clinic will be located on the second floor of CHC, radiology department. Clinic hours are 9am to 4:30pm. Shay can be contacted any time at (671) 649-1001 if you have any questions regarding your patients who may benefit from IR consultation and care.  Most insurances accepted. (PR)
