Dr. Jeffery Shay and Dr. Nathaniel Berg, experienced interventional radiologists, will be holding a clinic at the Commonwealth Health Center today, Feb. 14, 2019.

Screening for peripheral arterial disease, or PAD, atheroslerotic peripheral vascular disease, or ASPVD, as well as ankle-brachial index and toe-brachial index (ABI and TBI) will be provided.

“We strongly encourage providers to refer patients with claudication, poorly healing wounds/ulcerations, rest pain and lower extremity discoloration,” said a Guam Radiology Consultants statement.

“We urge providers to send any patients who have undergone an amputation in the past.

“Likewise, patients who are already scheduled for amputation can also benefit before or after surgery by increasing flow to the amputation site, allowing for improved healing and prevention of future amputations.

“An appropriate work-up and endovascular therapy leads to a decrease in repeat amputation. We want to help as many patients as possible.

Berg is available to answer any questions about the Guam Radiology Consultants, the services offered, and the importance of PAD and ASPVD screening.

Joining Shay and Berg is Dr. Peachy Mae T. Piaña, who will be conducting the clinic for women’s health, specifically breast consults and procedures.
