After devastating storms hit the CNMI, leaving a path of destruction, Pacific Historic Parks reached out to see how they could help students in the CNMI.

Over 2,000 backpacks, water bottles and pencil cases were purchased and sent to the CNMI from Pacific Historic Parks in Hawaii to help students who are in need of these supplies. This week, representatives from Pacific Historic Parks are delivering the supplies to all schools in the CNMI Public School System.

Pacific Historic Parks has served as the National Park Service non-profit cooperating association and partner in the islands of Hawaii, Guam, and Saipan for over 25 years. The mission of Pacific Historic Parks is to support the National Park Service through education and interpretive programs, research, preservation, restoration and fund development.

Over the years, various education programs at American Memorial Park were made possible through funding from Pacific Historic Parks. These include educational and community programs at the park, field trips and outreach to schools throughout the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. (PR)
