$10K bail set for man who allegedly sexually assaulted 6-year-old
The Superior Court imposed a $10,000 bail on a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor last Friday.
Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo set a $10,000 bail for 28-year-old Peter Aldan who is being charged with sexual assault of a minor in the second degree for allegedly sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl.
Aldan was remanded back to the Department of Corrections and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 17 at the Marianas Business Plaza.
The court assigned assistant public defender Nancy Daninski to represent Aldan.
According to detective David Hosono’s declaration, Aldan was arrested at his household after a witness reported the sexual assault.
Hosono said that on Jan. 4, at about 10:22pm, police responded to a reported sexual assault of a minor complaint. At the scene, police were met with the victim’s mother.
The mother of the victim told police that at about 9:50pm that same night, she walked past one of the bedrooms in the household and observed Aldan on the bed with the victim.
The mother said that she saw Aldan pull his hand out of the victim’s pants and raised her voice at Aldan asking him what he was doing.
Aldan told the mother that he was not doing anything, but the victim later told her mother that Aldan touched her inappropriately.
The mother said she then took her four children into their car and waited for police to arrive at the scene.
