KZMI counts down Asia’s top 140 songs in 2018
Beginning tomorrow, Jan. 5, and throughout January, radio station KZMI 103.9 FM will feature the region’s first and only syndicated radio chart countdown program, Asia Pop40, once again counting down the most popular 140 songs from 2018, over four weekly episodes.
This year marks the fifth annual countdown of the top 140 songs on the Asia Pop40 chart, based on their ranking in the chart and the number of weeks they appeared.
This year’s countdown will be presented each week by guest hosts from AP40’s affiliate stations as well as Asia Pop40 China’s host, Max Lim.
Rob Graham, the creator & executive producer of Asia Pop40, said: “We’re very excited to present our yearend highlight package of Asia Pop40 again this year. What better way to showcase 52 episodes, or 156 hours, of programming? Our annual countdown was a first for Asian radio and we’re very proud of that.”
As in previous years, the countdown will also honor the Asia Pop40’s No. 1 song of 2018, the Asia Pop40 artist of 2018, and the Asia Pop40 group/duo of 2018, Graham said.
The Asia Pop 140 countdown programs will air throughout January, culminating with the announcement of the No.1 song of 2018 on Saturday Jan. 26, 2019.
Asia Pop40 is the first regional weekly chart countdown radio show produced in Asia specifically for Asian radio, now heard in over 100 markets across Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East in English and Mandarin.
Asia Pop40 is produced and syndicated by EON Syndicated Media, based in Singapore.
Asia Pop40 is three hours in length and apart from showcasing the latest music, also features latest movie reviews, albums reviews, artist interviews and massive competitions. Asia Pop40 can be heard exclusively every Saturday on KZMI 103.9 from 11am to 2pm. “We are proud to be part of the Asia Pop 40 network of stations. Asia Pop 40 is an ideal fit for Saipan as the program is relatable not only to our local audience but also to the 500,000 Asian visitors the CNMI receives annually. Plus, we have several sponsors like IT&E and World Tour and Travel who use Asia Pop 40 as an effective vehicle to directly target our affluent Asian market in Saipan,” according to general manager Bob Webb.
