Members of the religious group Samaritan’s Purse International visited the Green Meadow School twice to share material and spiritual blessings with students and teachers alike.

On their first visit, the missionaries introduced their group by sharing the biblical story about the Good Samaritan and mingled with the students from kindergarten to middle school. The Samaritan’s Purse International gave away personal kits to each student.

Last Dec. 4, 2018, another group from Samaritan’s Purse returned to GMS, this time to distribute Bibles and solar lights.

“You could see the glow in the students’ eyes as each were receiving their own Bible,” the school said in a statement. “As a Christian school, this was a great blessing for the students. On that day, during the afterschool care, most of the students, especially the primary and intermediate students, preferred to read their new Bibles over playing with other games. They were fascinated by the colorful pictures that came with the Bible.”

GMS expressed thanks to Samaritan’s Purse International for its generosity and empathy, not only for GMS but for all other schools on the island.
