To aid with recovery from Super Typhoon Yutu, Skymark Airlines has donated ¥3,000,000 ($26,661) and Access, Inc. has donated ¥1,000,000 ($8,885)—sums that Marianas Visitors Authority intends to turn over to Karidat Social Services.

The two companies made the donations at the MVA general membership meeting on Dec. 14, 2019, at Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.

Skymark Airlines will begin direct flights from Japan to the Marianas in 2019. Access, Inc. is the MVA’s representative office in Japan.

The MVA is currently accepting public donations in Japan for the #MarianasSTRONG recovery campaign.

“We want to extend our sincere gratitude to our friends and associates in Japan for their generous donations to the people of the Marianas and for remembering us during this difficult time,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “The Marianas is recovering faster than expected, thanks to all the support arriving from abroad and from many local organizations.”

To mark the recovery of the islands after the typhoon, MVA and the community will host the #MarianasSTRONG Yearend Celebration on Dec. 29, 2018, from 5pm to 10pm at the Paseo de Marianas pedestrian mall in Garapan. (MVA)
