Work remains on 4 Saipan feeders
Water production reaches 72 percent
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is still working to restore electric power to four out of nine feeders on Saipan.
Feeders Kiya 1 to 4 are still offline, according to CUC executive director Gary P. Camacho
Kiya 1 areas are Chalan Kiya going up to As Terlaje, Kannat Tabla, Airport Road, and partials of Dandan and Obyan.
Kiya 2 areas are Northern Marianas College and its surroundings, As Lito and Koblerville.
Kiya 3 covers Middle Road from Sugar King onward to Gualo Rai.
Kiya 4 covers Chalan Kanoa, Susupe, and Chalan Kiya to the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Camacho said CUC crews had collected damaged mount poles and mount transformers in Susupe, Chalan Kanoa, Koblerville, As Lito, San Antonio, As Terlaje, Tanapag, Airport Road, and Dandan.
Since Tuesday, 99 percent of China Town reportedly has power. The area is under feeder 1.
Last Tuesday, power crew continued to repair and replace damaged conductors and hardware on the primary lines in Kagman 2, 3, and 4.
Camacho said CUC’s Operations Command Center continues to deployline crew and engineers throughout the island.
As for water, CUC reported that, as of last Tuesday, the island’s water production had reached 72 percent, with 85 out of 131 water wells already up.
