The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. and the Tinian Mayor’s Office are preparing to receive a shipment of hundreds of power poles and equipment and the arrival of utilities crews on Tinian in the coming days.

CUC executive director Gary P. Camacho met with Tinian Mayor Joey San Nicolas and the Primary Source Electric contractor yesterday to discuss the staging areas for the arrival of power poles, tools, and power crews.

According to CUC, its logistical team headed yesterday to Tinian to assess staging areas and ongoing preparations for Tinian power and water restoration efforts.

CUC also reported that, as of Tuesday at 3pm, all four power feeders on Tinian remain offline; they have no power.

CUC said 95 percent of Tinian’s water supply is online in San Jose Village, Carolinas Heights, Marpo Heights I and II, and Marpo Valley.

CUC said Tinian’s water station will be open from 2pm to 5pm beginning yesterday.
