DPS seeks help in solving burglary and theft incident

The Department of Public Safety is seeking the community’s assistance in solving a burglary and theft incident that took place on Rota over the weekend.

According to a Department of Public Safety statement, the burglary was reported last Friday on Rota and no leads have been found since.

The Department of Public Safety, along with Crime Stoppers, is now asking the CNMI community to report any leads that could possibly solve the case to the Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.

In the department’s press release, Rota police responded to a theft complaint at a farm in Pali’i on Rota.

According to the elderly homeowners, they left Rota on Oct. 17 and returned to find that their home had been broken into.

The couple reported that $15,000 worth of items including jewelry, personal items, and a firearm, was taken from their home.
