Recovering From Yutu
- A C-17 Globemaster III takes off from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, on Oct. 27, to provide humanitarian aid to the CNMI. Service members from Joint Region Marianas and Indo-Pacific Command are providing Department of Defense support to the CNMI’s civil and local officials as part of the Super Typhoon Yutu recovery efforts. - Soldiers from the Guam Army National Guard, reported to their units on Oct 29 to begin in-processing and preparing supplies, material and equipment for a mobilization to Saipan where they will support recovery efforts in the wake of Super Typhoon Yutu that devastated the island last week. An advanced group of Guam Guard soldiers arrived on Saipan on Wednesday to begin planning and logistics for the main body, part of which left Guam yesterday, while another group would depart today.
