Due to Typhoon Yutu’s approach, U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona closed the federal court yesterday at noon.

In her order, Manglona said the district court will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, at 1pm unless otherwise ordered.

Manglona said Saipan is currently in Typhoon Condition 2 status, which means destructive winds of 74 miles per hour or more are possible within 24 hours.

The judge said Typhoon Yutu is expected to affect Saipan with damaging winds and heavy rain throughout today, Wednesday.

“The CM/ECF electronic filing system will remain online, unaffected by this weather closure,” the judge said.

Affected by yesterday’s closure were the Drug Offender Re-entry Program status conference for six participants.
