Green Meadow School students in 6th to 8th grades participated in the islandwide competition of the National Junior Speech and Debate last Oct. 13 at Hopwood Middle School. Most of the students bagged the top places in various events.
This month’s competition is the first official pre-regional meet and there will be two more preliminary meets before the regional event in February 2019. This competition is designed to empower and inspire students to foster communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Only a few of GMS students competed this month due to the students’ hectic schedules. Nevertheless, the hard work of the few paid off, with four first-placers.
The school principal, Milagros Songcuan, also commend the parents for their support.
