Members of the Saipan Awaodori collected for the month of October 500 lbs of trash near their practice headquarters at the Paseo de Marianas alley’s immediate vicinity.

PDM Promoters Inc. coordinator Sonia Siwa told Saipan Tribune that the 17 members of the Awaodori club along with seven staff members from the Kinpachi Restaurant in Paseo de Marianas collected 500 lbs of trash within two hours.

The area included inside the alleys between the Coral Tree Avenue, Beach Road, and the American Memorial Park from 9am to 11am.

The group, which has been conducting monthly cleanups on the same route, has been consistently collecting over 400 lbs of trash each month.

Last September 2018, Siwa noted that the same group collected 580 lbs of trash in the same area, while during the International Coastal Cleanup last Sept. 15, 2018, the group contributed to a total of 5,538 lbs of trash from Saipan’s coastlines, along with 35 other organizations.
