Bill to fix San Jose drainage system to be introduced

The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation’s Ways and Means Committee has introduced a local legislation that would provide funding for several infrastructure projects for Precinct 3.

The SNILD will have a session on Friday, Oct. 19, at 10am on Capital Hill.

Rep. Angel A. Demapan (R-Saipan), SNILD Ways and Means chair, will introduce House Local Bill 20-81 with minority leader Rep. Edmund S. Villagomez (Ind-Saipan), Precinct 3 legislators, and other members of the delegation helping craft the legislation.

H.L.B. 20-81 would appropriate $9,500,000 for various projects in the Third Senatorial District. The funds are from the exclusive gaming annual license fees.

Precinct 3 will be appropriated $1,035,000 where $208,500 will be used to fix the drainage system of the roads near the San Jose Church.

Another $105,000 will be allocated to complete the Mt. Tapochau water line, while $96,500 is reserved for the paving and beautification easement in front of Puerto Rico Twins and North Marina Heights. Other projects will be named in the $625,000 balance.
