Lions club holds cleanup

The Saipan Alliance Lions Club, one of the six Lions clubs in the CNMI, is advocating for a cleaner environment, starting with a beach cleanup last Oct. 7 from Sugar Dock to Chalan Kanoa beach.

A total of 17 members participated in the cleanup and collected about 15 bags of trash, according to Saipan Alliance Lions Club director Ester Yamson.

On Saipan, there are six Lions Clubs and all Lions clubs are autonomous, which means that each club is responsible for its own events. The clubs can also work as one, as Region 2 District 204.

To those interested in joining the Saipan Alliance Lions Clubs, call June Alciso at 483-6996, Bhiya Canadalla at 285-6899, or club secretary Donna Fronda at 788-4108. Interested individuals can also visit www.lionsclubs.org for more details.
