Marianas named favorite destination at CITIE
The Marianas was named Favorite Destination of Cantonese at the 2018 China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo held on Sept. 7-9, 2018, in Guangzhou.
The Marianas Visitors Authority joined hands with Brighten Travel to participate in the expo, which attracted more than 500,000 visitors, 20 percent more than in 2017. Over 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries and regions joined the event at China Import & Export Fair Complex, the largest turnout in the expo’s history.
“CITIE was another excellent opportunity to showcase the Marianas in China, our second largest source market,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “Trade shows like CITIE are an important part of the MVA’s marketing strategy to ensure that we keep a diversified tourism market and keep the China market strong, as almost 40 percent of our visitors now come from there.”
The Marianas was named Favorite Destination of Cantonese by Southern Metropolis Daily, the most influential newspaper in Southern China, based on public popularity contest from Judy to late August. The Marianas competed in the category. (MVA)
