To actively promote the Marianas to the travelling public in Korea, the Marianas Visitors Authority participated in the 2018 Mode Tour International Travel Mart on Aug. 30-Sept. 2 in Seoul.

In collaboration with four hotel partners—Aqua Resort Club, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Kensington Hotel Saipan, and Saipan World Resort—the MVA set up a pavilion-style booth featuring vivid scenery in the Marianas and a large-scaled multi LED screen to showcase videos of Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.

To attract more family visitors and increase awareness of the Marianas’ major sports events, the pavilion also featured an event zone with Wii games.

“The stunning imagery of the Marianas and our on-hand activities were a great attraction at our booth for MTM, which welcomed over 110,700 visitors over four days,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “At MTM and other travel shows we attend, the goal is to make people aware of our destination and get them to make the decision to visit or do business with the industry. During the expo, we sold over 800 tour products for the Marianas at the site and via collaborative online sales.”

Earlier this year, MVA Korea also participated in another large consumer travel fair, Hana Tour International Travel Show, held on June 7-10 at Ilsan KINTEX in Seoul. Over 80,000 people attended the show, which highlighted underwater images to promote the Marianas as a desirable destination for divers. The MVA was joined in its promotions by Aqua Resort Club, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Kensington Hotel, Laolao Bay Resort & Golf, Saipan World Resort, and Imperial Pacific Hotel. Miss Marianas Celine Cabrera also interacted with the public at the event. (MVA)
