Go on a sailing tour aboard Okeanos Marianas

Okeanos Marianas, the CNMI’s 50-foot traditional sailing canoe, will be providing sailing tours within the Saipan lagoon to residents throughout the month of September in celebration of Heritage Month.

Tours start at Smiling Cove Marina at 10am and 5pm and feature marine life in and around the Saipan Harbor, as well as talks on traditional navigation and seafaring culture.

The CNMI non-profit organization that operated the Okeanos Marianas, called Okeanos Traditional Sailing for Future Solutions, aims to to provide sustainable sea transportation services throughout Micronesia and serve as an educational platform using traditional canoes to promote sailing, navigation, and environmental stewardship.

Okeanos Marianas is available to CNMI entities interested in chartering the canoe for cargo shipments, sailing tours, educational tours, and/or open-ocean voyages to the Northern Islands. (PR)
