The Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services removed over 200 pieces of World War II ordnances from a construction site in Chalan Lau Lau.

Explosives that date back to World War II still litter the CNMI today but in the past few days alone, DFEMS has uncovered a several unexploded ordnance sites by Beach Road.

Since Thursday, Aug. 23, up until Sunday, Aug. 26, DFEMS, in conjunction with the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Defense, recovered unexploded ordnances from Triple J Motors’ construction site by Beach Road, Chalan LauLau.

According to a report from DFEMS, they were able to extract a total of 275 WWII unexploded ordnance from the construction site and have since transported them to the bomb pit in Marpi as of 6pm Sunday evening.
