TAMUNING, GUAM—United Airlines chief executive officer Oscar Munoz visited Guam for the first time from Aug. 18 to 20 to meet the employees of the Guam hub and join them in celebrating the airline’s 50th anniversary as Guam and Micronesia’s hometown airline.

While in Guam, Munoz hosted an employee event where he engaged with the local team, made up of almost 1,000 employees. 

Munoz also toured the Guam operation at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport, Guam and the United hangar.

During the tour, Munoz acknowledged employees who were celebrating milestone anniversaries, many of whom have been with the company for more than 30 years.

On Aug. 20, Munoz boarded the Island Hopper flight to personally meet the United teams in Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Kwajalein and Majuro before his final stop in Honolulu.
