Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Victor B. Hocog, through the Department of Commerce, gave notice to the public yesterday that the deadline to submit application to receive assistance under the CNMI State Trade and Expansion Program has been extended to Aug. 30, 2018.

The STEP program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide financial assistance with qualified new to export and export-ready small businesses in the CNMI.

The STEP program is designed to help increase the number of small businesses that would like to take the next step and start exporting their product internationally as well as raise the value of exports for those small businesses that are currently exporting, with the end goal of both business growth and job creation.

The Department of Commerce, in collaboration and partnership with the Commonwealth Development Authority, urges all interested new to export, as well as export-ready small businesses in the CNMI to take the opportunity and submit an application before the deadline.
