Golden Harvest International School held its school year 2018-2019 open house last Friday with incoming students and their parents enjoying an early evening of fun and merriment with the San Jose school’s faculty and officers.

More than 40 attended the open house that featured a bounce house and free popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, and the traditional Filipino refreshment gulaman.

The open house allowed incoming and current students and their parents to check out the school’s classrooms, talk with its teachers, and discuss GHIS’ rules and regulations. It also gave GHIS faculty and staff a chance to welcome new students and get to know their families.

GHIS Day Care director Imelda Bautista said the school is starting the school year with eight more staff: four teachers and four childcare workers.

She said the school takes pride on its ideal teacher-to-student ratio. Bautista said it is 1:4 for infants, 1:7 for toddlers, 1:7 for preschool, and 1:10 for after school.

GHIS is located across the San Jose Church in San Jose Village. Its school year starts today, Aug. 15. For more information on GHIS, call 235-4655. (PR)
