Xerox Corp., which makes copiers and printers, has a new lineup of products that keep up with new technologies and automates office workflow.

Tiffany Rabacal-Harper, an Office Solutions specialist from Xerox Hawaii, introduced the new feature-laden machines at the “Technology Show” yesterday at the Xerox office in Garapan, where they showcased the Xerox Altalink and Versalink products. “…These are the newest and latest devices that are launched nationwide… The basis for the new features is to make life easier just like one would be using a smartphone or tablet,” Rabacal-Harper said. “We have added features that one can control anywhere they are, such as security features, centralized management, information flow, document format, and customized workflows…the machines are very intuitive and easy to use.”

One of the things that is truly exciting is the Xerox App Gallery, According to Rabacal-Harper.

“The machines have apps like Dropbox, Google Drive, Office 365… These apps are subscription-based with Xerox…we have robust offerings and they are free to download,” she said.

“The new products are compatible with Apple and Android devices, have cloud connectivity, ability to store documents, option to print in color or black and white,” she added.

Other features include the “Xerox Easy Translation” where the devices can translate documents into 40 languages, the “PDF Converter Professional” where PDF images can be converted to Excel or Word documents, and the “Nuance Output Manager” where documents are secured and have print management software that provides device authentication, authorization accounting, and audit.

Xerox Service & Solutions executive Nola K. Hix said the units stay affordable. “The units can be purchased or leased. A lot of our small desktops range on a lease for about $50 a month and whether purchased or leased, it comes with free service and supplies . We are the only provider on island that have equipment insurance, especially with previous disasters like Typhoon Soudelor,” she said.

“We have our ‘total satisfaction guarantee warranty,’ which means if there’s any time during the lease or after the sale the customer is not satisfied with the product, we can replace them at no charge. …In terms of availability, we have the units here on island [and] we also have our inventory in Guam. So customers that are looking for new equipment won’t have any issues with that,” she added.

Xerox general manager for Guam & Saipan Pamela Quinata said the businesses on Saipan is very important to Xerox. “We [are] updated in technology [on] both Saipan and Guam. …We are far geographically but we are still part if the United States and a lot of our businesses here is international. I think no one can afford to miss what’s coming up and that’s why we are here.”

Tucker Baldwin, chief operations officer of Bridge Capital, who was one of the guests at the launch, found the presentation informative.” It gave us the basics of what the new product lines are, which is always useful as it saves us a trip to the mainland as they bring the experts to us,” he said

“We are always looking at our equipment to see how we can keep up with the need… a lot of the stuff that they talked about today is right in line with where we are today and where we are eventually going,” he added.

In terms of product appeal, the “Easy Translation” feature caught the attention of QuickPrint manager Marilou Lambat. “We have Chinese customers and they like to have documents translated from Chinese to English. With this, we don’t have to hire a Chinese translator anymore and will make business more efficient and effective.”
