The Shack is an emerald sponsor of Green Gala
Taking their cue from their involvement in environmental stewardship and conservation efforts, The Shack recently signed on as an emerald sponsor of the Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance’s annual Green Gala on Sept. 14, 2018, at the Fiesta Resort & Spa’s Hibiscus Hall.

Glen Hunter, one of The Shack’s co-owners, described the company’s commitment to conserving natural resources: “We at The Shack are very conscious of the harmful effects of plastics and other non-biodegradable materials that can eventually harm our island’s natural resources. We’re recently begun to use bamboo straws in our restaurant, and all of our take-out containers are made of ecologically-friendly materials. We believe in the work that MINA does, and particularly in the outreach programs that serve to educate the community about the harmful effects of marine debris and other pollutants entering our waters. The Shack is proud to be a supporter of these efforts.”
Roberta Guerrero, MINA executive director, said that The Shack “has always been pushing the needle in terms of environmental responsibility, and we are so appreciative their support for our programs. Community is everything, which is demonstrated by The Shack’s ongoing commitment to the environment.”
